What is Case Consultation?
An integral component of the EMDR Institute Basic Training is the follow-up Case Consultation with any Accredited Case Consultant who is also an EMDR Institute Facilitator.
You can fulfil the minimum 5 hours after Part 1 and again after Part 2 either by attending an all day group session, or individually, usually in hourly increments, either in person, by phone or via Skype.
NZ Accredited Case Consultants
There are 14 accredited Case Consultants in New Zealand. All offer Individual, Skype and group case consultations or can support becoming an Accredited EMDR Practitioner but only those who are also an EMDR Institute Facilitators can provide case consultation hours needed for the EMDR Institute Basic Training. To view more information about individual Case Consultants just click 'more details'.
EMDRNZ criteria is the same as EMDR Europe's criteria.
Consultants in Training
Consultants in Training offer their service as supervisors, so they can complete their pathway to become Accredited Case Consultants. This supervision unfortunately will not count as the required 5 hours of Case Consultation as part of the EMDR Institute Basic training and also can not count towards the Case Consultation hours for accreditation as an EMDR Practitioner, but of course will be clinically valuable.
Please scroll down for the list of Consultants in Training (they are listed after 12 Case Consultants).
From 2022, new Case Consultants in training can be added to the EMDR website by request of the case consultant they are working with and after confirming that they have observed a Basic Training (part 1&2) within the last 12 months.
We thereby hope to be able to re-assure EMDR NZ members that they will be able to access high quality supervision based on the latest version of the training with any CIT.
