Empowering Lives Through EMDR Therapy in Aotearoa/
New Zealand

EMDRNZ, a Not-for-Profit Society, is a dedicated community of EMDR clinicians. Since our establishment in 2012, we have come together with a shared commitment to provide proficient EMDR Therapy across Aotearoa/New Zealand. This mission is accomplished through our thorough accreditation processes, which emphasize accountability and adherence to global EMDR guidelines.

What began with a small group of people who believed in EMDR Therapy, we have grown into a society of more than 600 dedicated therapists. Our shared vision motivates us to continuously enhance our members’ skills and knowledge through our annual conferences and various workshops.

We wish to support more Māori colleagues and have a pilot in 2024 for encouraging more Māori practitioners to seek Basic Training. For more information click here.

Our Journey: Redefining Possibilities

The Board

Guided by a collective purpose, our board consists of 10 volunteers who are chosen during the Annual General Meeting. During our monthly meetings, we focus on promoting and supporting EMDR as a treatment modality in Aotearoa/New Zealand by overseeing the accreditation process, organising our yearly conference, and considering other ways to enhance our current procedures.

The Board is committed to the principles of Te Tiriti in all that we do and recognise that it is a journey we want to encourage for our organisation and its members
